Posh Nosh at Open Air Cinema - The Nomad

It seems like open-air cinema is all the rage this summer. To rival Film4's open air screenings at Somerset House (see below post), The Lexi Cinema is presenting its roaming cinema partner The Nomad with three iconic screenings in Queen's Park between August and September 2012.

For those unfamiliar with The Lexi Cinema in Kensal Rise, it is the UK’s first social enterprise boutique cinema, donating 100% of its profits to charity and staffed predominantly by local volunteers.  Founded in 2008, The Lexi has built up a reputation for programming bespoke film events.

Teaming up with the roaming cinema The Nomad, Salt Yard Group (Salt Yard, Dehesa, Opera Tavern) is the official food partner for this series of pop up cinematic events.

Cinema goers will be able to sample Salt Yard's creative take on traditional cinema and al fresco fare, with a selection of dishes to choose from, including Ibérico burgers with manchego and guindilla, Ibérico hot dogs with romesco sauce, caramelized onions, guindilla and mustard alioli, as well as some of their popular signature creations like courgette flowers with goat’s cheese and honey.

Screenings are scheduled for 18th August, 8th September and 22nd September showing three cult favourites from three different decades, 80s childhood classic The Goonies, 60s gem The Graduate and 90s cult movie The Big Lebowski, the Queen’s Park screenings will form part of The Nomad’s summer line up.
